2. Alone Again

Welcome back to DOOM! Where we left off, Deanna Doom's twin children, Agrat and Antichrist, had been taken away by the vague government agency. Deanna was left without a job (and without a newspaper to quickly acquire one), without her kids, and, while we're at it, without the two pets she had adopted! Will she manage to do anything at all in Simsville?

The next day, she found her desired job in the newspaper, so things weren't totally... doomed.

With no one to focus on but herself, she quickly started earning promotions!

She spent many hours sleeping, washing her hands, and making out with passerby.

This boosted her spirits enough to be able to drink her entire thing of Elixir!

Deanna's life solely revolved around work and washing her hands.

She adopted a new stray, Skyler, but she got taken by the government agency the same day, while Deanna was at work!! That damned agency!!

Still, Deanna kept working hard!

She found a more permanent companion in Tucker.

In addition to finding work as a Service Pet, Tucker was able to service the Doom household by destroying things! This was nice, as Deanna now had plenty of money, and had large objects she'd like to move that she couldn't do to her weakened apocalyptic body.

Apparently eager to help in this regard, too, a burglar took some quickly-replaced objects.

Again, nothing could stop Deanna in her Paranormal work! Tucker got promotions as well!

With money in the bank, Deanna was able to start upgrading her home. The mysterious government vaguency let her paint two stretches of wall per day.

In her time not working, washing hands, or sleeping, Deanna definitely continued disrupting passerby to make them fall in love with her.

The first chance card to hit the Doom family struck Tucker, but thankfully, it turned out nicely!!

Deanna Doom set herself up for her first day of work at Level 9 with a skill/aspiration boost. Her house had been built up little (2 wall/floor pieces) by little, and Tucker was still doing well because Deanna started stockpiling her rotten hot dogs in a little enclosure.

A chance card hit Deanna on her first day as an Exorcist....

And it catapulted her to Cult Leader status!!!

Now, finally, just over a week from elderhood, Deanna had lifted a restriction!!*

*The restrictions that were lifted:
  • Sims may not plead with the Grim Reaper.
  • A Sim’s grave or urn may not be moved from the place it initially appears.
  • Graves and urns may not be sold, even if a sim has smashed them.
  • Graves and urns may not be placed into inventory.
  • Witches may not cast spells.
  • Thrones may not be used at all.
  • Sims may not use the Wishing Well, Genie Lamp, even if they have been brought back from college by the founder.
  • Sims may not use the Spiritual Shrine of Odd Blessings or Temple of Jumbok IV
  • Only Sims in the Paranormal career may use the Resurrect-o-Nomitron.
The most important one here is "A Sim's grave or urn may not be moved," as ghosts are absolutely SAVAGE in apocalypse challenges! They killed roughly half of my first few generations before they could lift anything in Pokalypton, my completed Apocalypse!

PLUS, Tucker became a Rescue Pet, topping the Service Pet career, just one day after Deanna did hers!*

*The restriction lifted:
  • Once any Sim turns Elder, you may no longer issue any direct commands to them, nor cancel any of their actions. You may still cancel actions that would otherwise break another restriction (such as playing computer games). You may also direct Elders to quit their jobs if they happen to miss a day of work with the Slacker restriction still in effect.
Non-senile elders!!! YAY!!

What will happen next? Will Deanna manage to have kids again, and keep them this time? Will she move in her fiancée from college, or choose one of her 9 other in-love options? Tune in next time to DOOM on SBS to find out!
